There is something immediately memorable about this Woodbridge home: tall windows set into warm brick, a deep covered entrance, mature trees and landscaping that give the property an established character.
The window and door replacement was an opportunity not to reinvent the house, but to highlight those details.
The homeowners replaced all 26 windows with DraftLOCK Slim Series windows and chose black exterior frames. Against the light brick, the contrast is striking, especially across the tall, narrow windows that give the exterior its distinctive rhythm. The result feels contemporary without detracting from the character already there.
Black Outside. Light Inside.
Inside, the homeowners chose white frames, keeping the rooms bright and allowing the windows to blend naturally with the interior.
The slimmer DraftLOCK profile means more glass and cleaner sightlines, while modern energy-efficient construction provides better insulation, tighter sealing and year-round comfort through Ontario’s changing seasons.
The Backyard Has Its Own Moment
At the rear of the home, a new European tilt-and-turn patio door creates a beautiful connection with the backyard.
Surrounded by mature greenery, the large glass panels bring in natural light while the tilt-and-turn design offers two ways to enjoy the space: open the door fully for backyard access or tilt it inward from the top for fresh air and ventilation.
An Entrance That Brings It Together
The new entrance door completes the transformation.
Its dark finish looks especially striking beneath the warm wood-clad porch ceiling and alongside the black window frames and architectural details. With the brick, mature tree and overflowing summer flowers, the entrance feels polished without losing its warmth.
“We wanted to update the house without losing what we already loved about it. The result feels fresher, brighter and more finished.”
